Missionary Prayer Requests 9/21/11
SENT PRAYER- 9-21-2011
Remember to also pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ and those who minister to them.
LONDON TEAM- New place to meet for their Wed and Sunday meetings.
Lauren-
The events for the Summer end bash were great.
we ended up not being allowed to play any of the music on thurs and unfortunately on sunday as well. Sadly, the management decided against it.
On the other hand, the baptism still went on and was a blessing to see and hear some testimonies of how the Lord is working in the lives of those who got baptized! Praise God!
Landon-
Pray for the Camden Police chief. at the meeting the he gave each church a part of the borough to do prayer walks
checking on group of street preachers
Baptism-went really well, rained when they started doing the baptism.
English class the building is free but when they get a booking they cancel the class. 5 students are consistent, trying to work out where else they could meet to keep up the consistency.
Eph 3:14 has been blessing blessing him. Asked that we pray that for them and the whole church.
Merrills-
+ Praise: the baptism in Brighton went very well! A group of 20 went, 6 were baptized. We even had good weather for the most part! I was blessed by people's testimonies.
+ No news on housing situation. Please pray that our friend will handle things with integrity and that he can be a witness to the builders.
+ We have had our belongings stored over the summer at a friends house and we need to have them out of there by Thursday this week. We don't really know where to put it or what to do with it. Our only option right now is to move it about 1,5 hours north of London where friends are willing to have it for us. It's not a very convenient solution. It's starting to get quite difficult not to have a home as our lives continue without. We get discouraged easily and have our ups and downs.
+ We had a family come to church on Sunday with twins 14 month old. Our building is starting to get tight on space (praise!) and we don't really have facilities for young children. Please pray that God would provide!
Parks-They arrived in California Tues. Pray for their time here, a good balance of rest, and fellowship.
Pottengers-Kenya-
We have two new servants who will begin serving in Children's ministry starting in Oct.
We also had several more people come forward this Sunday who are interested in the marriage conference, and singles conference in Oct
Though this remains a prayer request, we have to praise God for the opportunity that Matt and Stephen had today to view three different properties that are for sell. It seemed that there was only one property that seemed like it could work for the church, but there are other properties out there.
We also give God glory for the Discipleship class on Thursday going well as they learn inductive Bible Study, and Matt has had the opportunity to connect with a couple of the guys one on one. October is shaping up to be a full month with a baby dedications on the 2nd and big children's presentation on the 9th. We also have a servants meeting with those that are part of the core. Glory to God for a vibrant, active, growing church.
Oh we have to add one more praise in! Kenya Grace has it on her heart to give our Hindu neighbors and Kathy who owns the ice cream shop Bibles so they can know Jesus and go to heaven!
Oh, yes and one more for those who have been praying for Sunday. We got word that there is peace at his home and with the family. This is a huge praise.
Please continue to pray for:
Sunday as he continues to share Jesus with his brother and family
Peg and Maureen as they connect and process through life and ministry on Tues.
Direction regarding land
Direction regarding fundraising for P4 vehicle
For everyone's focus to be on the Lord
For opportunities to give Bibles to our Hindu friends and that they would have receptive hearts
For KG to shine the light of Jesus at her International school
The Ms-Israel
pray for wisdom, guidance and safety this week.
Praise:
- Our outreach this past Wednesday night turned out to be very quiet. Interestingly, not many people were out on the street this week. However, I had the opportunity to connect with three different ladies on my way to the meeting, and afterwards. The Lord is so faithful to bring people across our path when we make ourselves available! Please pray for opportunity to follow up with "B", "S" and another neighbor lady from the building next door.
- A new class of Calvary Chapel Bible College students have arrived in Jerusalem, and we are excited that they want to volunteer with us. We had a great time with the students last semester, and we're looking forward to getting to know this new group. JM is also giving them an intro to Hebrew.
-Despite rising political tensions all around us, we had a great worship time and some deep conversation with our brothers and sisters in Bethlehem. Please keep us in prayer as we are all committed to working together to build the kingdom of God, and to maintaining a testimony of loving one another in Jesus, regardless of political views , current events and governmental changes.
Please pray:
-This week we received news that J M's aunt (Lynn) is in the hospital with a serious medical condition. We also have a dear friend here, who's brother Teddy, was in a very serious accident. He is in the ICU also. Please pray for a quick and complete recovery for each of them.
- For follow up with the contacts we've made the last few weeks, especially Miss "S", Miss "B", Mr. "S", Mr."N", Mr."C" and Mr"A". For the Lord's continued guidance in growing the mid-week outreach service, and for the Lord to provide us with a Hebrew translator. For direction and growth of our Congregation, S S.
-For spiritual growth of those we are discipling and teaching: Mr. F and his two sons, Mr.A, Miss T. Miss F, Gal, Jen and baby Katie.
- Please continue to pray for Amini and his family: We understand that he's still in a very difficult stage of his treatment, with chemo therapy and radiation.
-For the house church in Bethlehem and the Aql family. Please pray for their safety this week, and for their transition to a more independently managed ministry.
-For Gal in her deployment in the Army- There have been many disturbances in her area lately, and it's likely there will be many problems this week at the checkpoint near her base. Please pray that the Lord will give her and the other soldiers in her unit, wisdom, skill and courage to handle every situation. Also for supernatural protection and peace.
Finances: For JM and I to grow in the area of stewardship as the Lord entrusts us with additional responsibilities and income.

SENT Prayer 9/14/11
Remember to also pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ and those who minister to them.
The M’s-Israel
The next two months will be a crucially important time here. There is currently a lot of political tension in the air (due to anticipated reaction to the coming events on Sept 20th- whatever they may be.) Many unbelievers and new believers are watching us, to see how we will respond to future events, and we feel an especially strong responsibility to clearly demonstrate a walk of faith in Yeshua. We are also looking forward to the Jewish High holidays, a great opportunity for ministry here in the land. Please pray that we will have a clear testimony and a ready answer for the Jewish, Arab, and multicultural community around us.
-Praise:
- Our outreach this past Wednesday night was a little "different" but fruitful nevertheless. Our friends from Bethlehem, Bo and Iav, joined our group too. We had a great time with the music, as well as a prolonged conversation with a young jewish man (MR"C") who was into some "new agey" stuff, and that shortened the time for our message. But we ended up giving him a Bible, and during our conversation, tons of families with kids and young people stopped by to listen to the music. I noticed especially, that many Arabs who passed by were surprised to see a Palestinian playing Darbuka with a Messianic group. I felt that it was a great testimony for them.
-You may also remember that a few month ago, we mentioned a Mr "A", that we had ministry to, and who had recently made a decision of faith in Yeshua. We had lost track of him, But this Wed night, we went looking for him and found him! Please pray for him, as he struggles with some addiction, and also needs a suitable place to live.
-We celebrated Gal's 21st Birthday this Shabbat. We surprised her with balloons, streamers and presents, and then had a big dinner with friends. Finally we brought out a big strawberry shortcake with sparklers and a musical candle on top.
- J M and I have started our new Hebrew classes and we're both working hard, and doing well. Please pray that we will be able to manage the demands of our new schedule, and to advance to a level of fluency in Hebrew quickly.
Please pray:
- For follow up with the contacts we've made the last few weeks, especially Mr. "S", Mr."N", Mr."C" and Mr"A". For the Lord's continued guidance in growing the mid-week outreach service, and for the Lord to provide us with a Hebrew translator. For direction and growth of our Congregation,
-For spiritual growth of those we are discipling and teaching: Mr. F and his two sons, Mr.A, Mr.S, Miss T. Miss F, Miss S - for direction in her life, Gal, Jen and baby Katie.
- Please continue to pray for Aminidav and his family:
-For the house church in Bethlehem and the Aq family. With his new schedule at the congregation, we are entering a season when J M will have less hours to devote to helping our friends in Bethlehem. Please pray for their transition to a more independently managed ministry.
-For Gal in her deployment in the Army- safety and peace. Please keep her in prayer over the next couple of weeks, as things at her army base are very tense.
- Finances: For JM and I to grow in the area of stewardship as the Lord entrusts us with additional responsibilities and income.
Theo-El Salvador
The day after last weeks request Theo sent a message that Esther was improving and her lungs had cleared again. there has not been any update since. Continue to pray for this child that is so full of faith in Jesus.

-Kelli is out of the cast and into physical therapy. Thank you for praying. There is still a lot of stretching and exercises needed, but it seems that every day there is more flexibility and range of motion.
-Students in the School of Ministry have begun their last term and are set to graduate in December. Please be in prayer as they finish up their projects.
-Please pray for the people of Kenya in these hard economic times when inflation has doubled the cost of many staples and many are not able to send their children to school. Pray people would rely on God and find contentment in Him. Pray we would know how to minister to these people and be able to point to the the Lord that has been sustaining them.

Pottengers-Kenya-
We next want to praise Him for a beautiful Sunday where Matt preached at the combined service and taught on Jesus feeding the 5,000 complete with 5 little loves of bread and two small fish. He broke up the bread and passed the bread out to the at least 80 children sitting in front. Later KG told me she was hungry. I asked her if she had had any bread and she said, with a very down face and voice, "Yes, but I didn't get ANY fish!" If you could have seen the fish you would be hysterical because they were very Kenyan, dried, whole fish with the eyes and all. And she was serious! Smile!
After the teaching there was a baptism where 5 men and 5 women shared beautiful testimonies and were overjoyed to make a public declaration of their faith. It truly was beautiful to watch. Even the mamas who led worship during the baptism seemed overflowing with joy and sang from their heart! Praise God!
We also praise God for His recent provisions for the O4 and CCL and for an impromptu Sunday evening meal with the O4.
Please continue to pray for:
For the P4 for strength and wisdom to stand in the recent warfare we are feeling
For servants to come forward as the Lord leads to serve in different areas, especially Children's ministry at CCL
For the normal weekly ministry - that we would all be filled with the Holy Spirit and serve out of the overflow
For the continual planning of the marriage seminar, and singles seminar
For the visitors coming in Oct. (Matt and Lori Dragoun and Celeste Smith) Smile!!!!
For wisdom about the P4 vehicle new and old - we have been receiving some great ideas from our Care Team about fundraising ideas and just need wisdom
For land and property for CCL to purchase and God's provision

Reports from the summer camps have continued to come in and it has been a blessing and encouragement to see how our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ move in the lives and hearts of the children who attended this past summer.

The M’s-Israel
-Praise:
- Our outreach during the" one million man march" went very smoothly. The Lord had us take a smaller ministry team than we had anticipated, but as it turned out, it was just the right number of people. We gave out water with a banner that said "living water for free", and had a successful time of engaging people in conversations about Yeshua and our faith. We were well received by most, with virtually no opposition.
- This past Wednesday night we also had a great time of outreach and met a young man who was intently seeking to know God. Mr."N" showed up at our worship time, and joined us in the Hebrew worship songs, lifting his hands to the Lord. He told us excitedly that he "wanted to worship God that way all the time." Mr "N" comes from an ultra orthodox Jewish family, but he was so tired of religiosity, that he took off his tsit tsit (fringes worn on a prayer shawl) kippa (head covering) and cut off his peyos (side curls). His family then promptly kicked him out, and he is now staying with friends. Mr."N" has a wife and two small children, from whom he is now forcibly separated. Please pray for his salvation and for reconciliation with his immediate family.
- J M and I found a place that offers more advanced Hebrew studies on two days a week. We're excited to begin our new classes tomorrow! Please pray that we will be able to manage the demands of our schedule well, and to advance to a level of fluency in Hebrew quickly.
Please pray:
- For follow up with the contacts we made on Wednesday and Saturday, especially Mr."N".
-For the house church in Bethlehem and the A family. With his new schedule at the congregation, we are entering a season when J M will have less hours to devote to helping our friends in Bethlehem. Please pray for their transition to a more independently managed ministry.
-For spiritual growth of those we are discipling and teaching: Mr. F and his two sons, Mr. A, Mr L, Mr. D,Mr.S., Miss T. Miss F, Miss S - for direction in her life, Gal, Jen and baby Katie.
- Please continue to pray for A and his family: We understand that he's still in a very difficult stage of his treatment, with chemo therapy and radiation. Please pray for a comfortable and complete recovery for A, and for Len(Mom) to have peace, joy, good health and energy, and for A's older brother to be blessed during this time as well.
-For the Lord's continued guidance in growing the mid-week outreach service, and for the Lord to provide us with a Hebrew translator. For direction and growth of the congregation as a whole.
-For Gal in her deployment- safety and peace.
- Finances: For JM and I to grow in the area of stewardship as the Lord entrusts us with additional responsibilities and income. Please continue to pray also that the Lord will provide for the cost of tuition for the private school that A attended while she was in our care.

-Thank you all so much for your prayers and concern for young Esther. I received word this morning that her pneumonia has returned, and that her general condition has worsened. The Doctors have told her family that they should prepare for her imminent death, and have given her about a week.
-Please join me in prayer! Please pray with me for Esther's miraculous healing, for the comfort of her family (they are new believers), and most of all, for God to be glorified through all of this!
-Please also lift up the doctors, and any one else that does not know Jesus that may be in the hospital or associated with the family, that they would know the love of God even in this seemingly dark hour.

Praises and Prayer Requests
• God is so good! We're doing a musical outreach for the Church on Thursday. I'd love to see people get saved from the markets... I'm stoked for the chance for the believers from our Church and others to get in conversations with others who come so they can share about Jesus!
• The English class is in some changes. The southern couple that has been helping us with the class have had to go back to the states for health reasons. Please pray for Ralph's recovery and for Rach and I as we scramble to make sure the class goes on well without them.
• It's been pretty heavy on my heart, if you could be praying with me for a meeting taking place Friday morning. It is with the church leaders all throughout the Camden burrough, called by the chief commander of the police force. It is a PRAYER meeting! God has raised a right on Christian into that role and he has called for the church to pray and rise up. I'm really expecting something awesome.
• We're having our first baptism on Saturday! Yea, its going to be really fun. I'd love the fellowship all the way around to be so blessed. I think God's going to use this day, but pray He'd really be defining things and making a clear mark in the lives of those getting baptized.
Merrills-
+ Praise: God's protection over our families!
+ Praise: No news on our housing situation, but Luke and I both feel more content and less frustrated! We want to learn whatever God is trying to teach us!
+ Please pray that God would give Luke opportunities to share with people at his job.
+ On my last ultrasound the doctor said my placenta is too low. It's quite common, but it needs to move up. I'll have another ultrasound in November to see if it's moved.
We have an end of summer bash coming up this weekend with a couple concerts in the market, and baptism in Brighton. Please pray that these events would be fruitful!

We received our work permits that allow us to serve here for another 3 years
had Joellie seen by the doctor They did not have her shot that she needed because it usually comes in a mix. He told us, "It's available globally but not locally."
We also were able to get in to the dentist and get a good cleaning, praise God!
And lastly we were able to visit the language school to say hello and connect about a refresher course.
Kenya Grace has officially started school
