China Team update

The China team has just one day left on the ground here. We have finished up our VBS, cleaned up a school, serenaded children and organized otherwise disorganized places. For the girls, Trista, and I, however, we won\'t be leaving until Friday. Keep us in prayer as we will be without Grace, who has been translating for us. Should be exciting!

Kenya Team made it to Kenya

The office got a phone call from Brian letting us know that they arrived safely in Kenya. The trip was long but went well. One ministry bag was missing but they should have it by tomorrow. It was about midnight there at the time and they have an early day tomorrow (7am!) so continue to keep their energy and safety in prayers.

Mission Trip update (Landon)

Ni How!  It is crazy how our God crosses cultures. From Russia to China, He loves and wants these people.  The first thing we were greeted by when we got off the plane in China were the health inspection staff to approve our entrance into the country. The thing that I noticed was the fact that instead of name tags, every one of them had a number where a badge would have been. 10069807 signed off papers and 10588093 stamped our passports. How sad. When I saw this I wanted to tell them how much God loves them, even knowing their name and the hairs on their head. We had no translator, but I can only pray they hear the best news ever one day.

Things are going well. We are doing a VBS with disabled kids through the end of this week. We arrived at the orphanage in time to participate in the two different sets of VBS we are doing each day. It has been a blessing to watch the kids get more and more comfortable with us. Be praying that the kids will experience the love of the Father.

There have been a few surprises for the Russia portion of the China team. When we showed up we realized that the facilities are incredibly nice. We definitely weren\'t expecting that. Also, some of the staff is actually taking us to the great wall on Saturday (it is a little weird going sight seeing since it was kinda the last thing on our priorities) but I guess it will be pretty epic none the less.

A waitress that the LORD had provided some good conversation with the other night got saved tonight! That was pretty incredible. The LORD used one of our team members who speaks mandarin in an awesome way. That was only topped off by the fact that a cook come out and danced while making the noodles for our meal to a Chinese techno / barney song. Since we all were overly enthusiastic about the whole ordeal, giving him a standing ovation, a large protion of the staff came in dressed up and did karyoke for us. We then decided that we would do a VBS song for them and the entire team did the song and dance for Great Adventure with Trista leading the crew. We got an encore and did a different song. Which led to a dance off and Michael Jackson impressions from a couple of the Chinese staff members. Needless to say, it was a memorable night and YouTube will be graced with the video I am sure.

The group is getting along well and it has been a blessing to get to know both teams and to watch them grown together. They have been serving relentlessly and it is fun to watch them be so persistent in service.  The LORD continues to do miracles and we get to watch them. We are so blessed.

Mission Trip update

PTL for the fruit here! We\'ve been doing VBS, 8:30-10:30 for the older kids (6-10 years old) and 2:30-4:30 for the younger kids (3-5 years old). I\'m the only one in my team who can speak Mandarin, so PTL for the HS who gives me the words. Please yarp for continual dependence on Big Papa for he is the one who speaks and interprets for the children.

The Russia team just joined us Tuesday, and I\'ve been so refreshed by their spirit. Yarp for the harvest!

Russia Team now China Team!

Update from David Park via his wife Trista. The Russia team has arrived safely and they have just finished the first out of two VBS sessions with the kids. She says that the kids are so cute when they learn the hand motions to the songs that they sing! She asks that you continue to pray that the two teams are able to unite and that VBS goes smoothly and is fun for the kids.

If you receive updates from the China Team, please share them with the church office.
